What makes us different

Junk removal in Charlotte, done backwards.

Traditional Charlotte junk haulers reverse the order: they take everything to the dump first and ask questions later. We sort first. We sell what has value. We donate what's reusable. We haul only what truly belongs at the landfill. Most clients recover more in resale than the haul fee costs.

We recover value first.

Items with resale value are listed on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, or local consignment. You keep 85% of every sale, credited against the haul fee.

Donations route with receipts.

Reusable items go to vetted Charlotte 501(c)(3) partners (Habitat ReStore, Goodwill, ReGenesis). Itemized FMV receipts come back to you for tax deduction.

Charlotte HQ, not a franchise.

Licensed, bonded, and insured in North Carolina. Your project lead is a VaultXL employee. We know the local donation partners, dump rates, and neighborhoods.

By the item

Specific items, specific Charlotte pricing.

Couch & Sofa Removal — $125

Most Charlotte couches don't fit in your car, can't go in regular trash, and require two people to move out. We bring the team and the truck. Sectionals priced per piece. Working condition? We'll try a same-week resale on Facebook Marketplace and credit you 85% of any sale price against the haul fee. Items beyond resale are donated to Habitat ReStore (with receipt) where possible, or hauled.

Mattress Removal — $95

Charlotte landfills require mattresses to be wrapped, and curbside trash typically won't take them. We pick up mattresses, box springs, and bed frames any size — twin through California king. Bedbug-suspected pieces are handled per protocol. Mattress recycling partner available for an additional $15 (the foam, springs, and fabric are diverted from landfill).

Appliance Removal — $110

Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, and water heaters. Refrigerators with refrigerant are handled per EPA guidelines (refrigerant evacuation before disposal). Working appliances route to Habitat ReStore with a donation receipt. Multi-appliance pickup discounted (call for quote).

Hot Tub Removal — from $325

Hot tub removal in Charlotte requires draining, electrical disconnection, and breakdown. We bring crew and tools. Spa shells are cut down on-site. Most Charlotte backyard removals are completed in 2–4 hours. Quote depends on access (deck-mounted vs ground-level), size, and disposal site distance. Free on-site estimate.

Garage Cleanouts — $450–$850

Charlotte garages accumulate fast: tools, bikes, sports gear, holiday decor, paint cans (we sort the hazardous), boxes from moves you forgot about. We sort everything into sell, donate, dispose. Items with resale value (power tools, bikes, weight sets, golf equipment) get listed on Facebook Marketplace and you keep 85% of every sale. The haul fee is often offset by resale recovery.

Attic & Basement Cleanouts — $500–$950

Decades of accumulation, often in tight-access spaces. We bring crews trained for stair-haul work. Mold-suspected items are flagged for specialty handling. Vintage items (mid-century furniture, old electronics, sports memorabilia, vinyl, retro toys) often have surprising resale value — we research before hauling. Charlotte basement floods sometimes require restoration partners we can refer.

Estate-Sized Cleanouts (Full House)

When the volume is whole-house, junk removal stops being the right service. We have a dedicated process for estate cleanouts that recovers far more value than a single-day haul: photographed inventory, on-site or online resale, donation receipts at FMV, broom-clean handoff. See our Charlotte Estate Cleanout page.

Construction & Renovation Debris

Small to medium loads from single-room renovations: drywall, carpet, lumber, cabinet fixtures, tile. Pricing follows the truck-load tiers above. For full-house demo or any project with potential asbestos or lead-paint, we'll connect you with a licensed demolition partner.

Sensitive Cleanouts & Hoarder Situations

Charlotte families occasionally inherit a property where the contents have accumulated over decades into something more than ordinary junk. We handle these with discretion: smaller crews, no judgment, photo-documented progress, and a relationship with mental-health-trained partners if the family or owner wants the resource. Pricing is project-based after a private walkthrough.

Most junk haulers take everything to the dump. VaultXL is built around value recovery — we sort items first, sell what has resale value (you keep 85% of every sale), donate what's reusable with itemized fair-market-value receipts you can deduct on taxes, and only haul what genuinely belongs at the dump. Most Charlotte families recover enough value to substantially offset the haul fee.

Yes — and this is what sets VaultXL apart. Items in good condition route to vetted Charlotte 501(c)(3) partners (Habitat ReStore, Goodwill, ReGenesis) with itemized fair-market-value receipts you can deduct on your taxes. Most junk haulers send these same items to the dump. We give you both the deduction and the satisfaction of items finding a second life.

Both are national franchises. VaultXL is Charlotte-headquartered. We're licensed, bonded, and insured in North Carolina, and we lead with value recovery — selling and donating before hauling — which national franchises do not. For straightforward fast hauls, the franchises are competitive on price. For anything with potential resale value, garage cleanouts, or estate work, VaultXL typically returns hundreds to thousands of dollars to the family vs zero from the franchises.

Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zelle, and check on completion of the work. Card processing is via Stripe with PCI-DSS compliance. Single-item pickups are paid before pickup; larger loads are 50% deposit / 50% on completion.
