Why it's its own job
Rods, not springs.
Most backyard trampolines hold the mat with steel springs around the edge. A Springfree uses flexible rods instead, and that is why taking one down is not like taking down any other trampoline.
The rods hold the mat under tension, so they come out in the order the manual sets, and the legs come off last. The frame should never be loose-folded or moved half assembled. It is hard work either way. The right tools and the right order are what got our first one apart in about an hour.
How this started
The quotes were $400 and $300. We did it ourselves.
On a downsizing job in the Charlotte area, our client had a Springfree R79, the 10 ft round, with the FlexrHoop basketball hoop and the FlexrStep ladder. It had to come down before the house was cleared.
Springfree quoted about $400 to take it down. The best local quote we found was $300. So we decided to do it ourselves.
It was hard. But with the right tools and the right technique we had it apart in about an hour. Springfree's own R79 manual plans for two people and about two hours. Our client kept the difference, which came to hundreds of dollars.
Now we do it for other families, for one flat price. If you would rather try it yourself first, our guide walks through the order we used.

1. Before: the R79 with its net, FlexrHoop and FlexrStep.
2. Net and rods out, mat off and folded.
3. Frame apart, legs off last.
4. Rods, poles, hoop and ladder laid flat, ready to bundle.

Doing it yourself?
What we learned on the first one.
These are tips from our own take-down, not a replacement for the manual.
- Start with the take-down section of your model's manual. Springfree's manuals set the order, and the order matters.
- On our R79 we took the mat rods out every other one, starting from the blue-tagged rod.
- Take the legs off last.
- Never loose-fold the frame or move it half assembled. Take it fully apart where it stands.
- General tips: work with a second person, wear gloves, clear a flat spot to lay parts on, and bag the small hardware as it comes off.

Frequently asked
Springfree take-down questions.
Taking the whole trampoline apart where it stands: the enclosure net and its rods, the mat and the rods that hold it, the frame and the legs, plus a FlexrHoop or FlexrStep if you have one. The parts are left flat and bundled, ready to move, store or sell. The price is $220 for the whole job, and nothing is charged until we have confirmed your date.
No. This service is the take-down only. We leave the parts organized so whoever sets it up next has an easier job, but we do not offer reassembly.
Not as part of the flat price. If the parts need to go somewhere, our Charlotte delivery service prices that separately by pickup and drop-off address.
The first one we did was an R79, the 10 ft round. If yours is an O77, an S113 or another model, choose it in the form or tell us what is on the label, and we will confirm before your date.
Springfree's own R79 manual plans for two people and about two hours. Our first one took about an hour, because we had the right tools and knew the order. Plan for us to be in your yard for an hour or two.

Yes. With two people, the right tools and some patience it is a manageable job. Follow the take-down section of your model's manual. Our guide covers the order we used and the mistakes to avoid.
Yes, if you would like. Mention it in the form. Selling is quoted separately and in writing, the same way as the rest of our resale work.
