Moving quotes are priced by volume and weight. Every sofa, dresser and dining set you take with you is money spent on transport, and if the piece is not coming into the new place it is money spent twice — once to move it, again to store or dispose of it later. Selling before the truck arrives is almost always the better arithmetic.
But there is no single right way to do that, which is why this is a menu rather than a package. Some homes are best cleared with an on-site sale over a weekend. Some have twenty valuable pieces and two hundred ordinary ones, and want the valuable ones listed properly online while the rest goes in a single lot. Some people want to hand over a key and see a statement at the end. All three are things we do.
The right option depends on three things: how much time you have before you need the space empty, how much of the value sits in a few pieces versus spread across many, and how involved you want to be. We work that out in a free walkthrough and tell you which route recovers the most, including when the answer is a simple estate sale rather than anything more elaborate.
Whatever route you pick, the commission structure is the same — 15% on what an item actually sells for, and you keep 85%. Nothing is owed on anything that does not sell, and we never take a cut of items you decide to keep.
What the family receives.
- ✓Free walkthrough and a written recommendation on which route recovers the most
- ✓Option 1 — On-site sale: we price, stage and run the sale where the items already are; nothing gets moved before it is sold
- ✓Option 2 — Sell in place, online: photographed and listed while everything stays in your home, buyers collect from you
- ✓Option 3 — Extraction and storage: we remove it, hold it, and sell it on a longer timeline when your deadline is shorter than the market's
- ✓Option 4 — Fully hands-off fulfillment: we take it, photograph, research, list, negotiate, ship and settle — you approve prices and receive a statement
- ✓Honest triage: what genuinely holds value, what should be donated, what is disposal
- ✓Donation coordination with itemised FMV receipts
- ✓Final clear-out so the house is ready to list, hand back or hand over
- ✓You keep 85% of every sale on every route
Why VaultXL.
Selling on site costs you nothing to move
The single biggest saving available in a move is not moving the things you are about to sell. If a piece sells where it stands, you never pay to transport it and neither does the buyer beyond their own truck.
Four routes, not one package
An on-site sale, listing in place, extraction with storage, and fully hands-off fulfillment are genuinely different jobs suited to different homes. We tell you which fits rather than selling you the one we prefer.
Deadline decides more than value does
Good pieces need weeks of market exposure to reach a fair price. If your deadline is two weeks, the honest answer is a faster route at a lower number — not a promise we cannot keep.
You are never charged on what you keep
Commission applies to items that sell. Change your mind about a piece halfway through and it simply comes off the list.

Frequently asked.
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest route. We can run an on-site sale where items are priced and sold where they stand, or photograph and list them online while they stay in your home so buyers collect directly from you. Either way you avoid paying to transport things you are getting rid of.
Then we work backwards from that date and tell you honestly what it costs in recovered value. Tight deadlines mean less market exposure, which means lower prices. If the date is firm and the timeline is short, extraction and storage lets the selling continue after you have already moved out.
Usually listing individually online, because each item reaches the buyers most likely to pay for it — but it takes the longest. An on-site sale is faster and simpler and typically recovers less per item, though it clears a whole house in a weekend. We run the comparison on your actual contents during the walkthrough.
No. We coordinate buyer pickups and can hold access by written arrangement, which is common for clients who have already relocated. You approve prices remotely and receive a settlement statement itemising every sale.
The walkthrough is free. From there it is a flat 15% commission on items that sell, so you keep 85%. Routes that involve moving or storing items carry a separate quoted fee, always in writing before any work begins, and nothing is owed on items that do not sell.
Your choice. They are donated with an itemised receipt for your tax filing, returned to you, or disposed of. We never charge commission on unsold items.
