For move managers, organizers & cleanout crews

Nothing worth real money leaves your job site in a dumpster

You manage the move or the clear-out. We look at the contents first and pull out what is genuinely worth selling — which is money back to your customer and a reason they remember who sent us.

Why this hand-off exists

What we hear from move managers, organizers & cleanout operators

This is the one category on this site where an ordinary commercial referral arrangement is lawful and available, so it is the one page that talks about money. The work is adjacent rather than competing: the labour, the truck, the move, and the haul-away revenue stay yours. What we add is the part most crews are not staffed to do — identifying, pricing, listing, and settling the items that have resale value.

You are paid to remove things you can tell are worth money

Every experienced crew has watched a piece go in the truck knowing it was worth several hundred dollars. Doing something about it means research time, listing time, and a place to sell — none of which is your business model.

Customers ask what things are worth and you are not an appraiser

Answering costs you time and carries risk if you are wrong; refusing to answer makes you look indifferent. Handing the question to someone whose whole job it is solves both ends of it.

Sorting is the slowest, least profitable hour of any cleanout

The removal is fast. Deciding what is trash, what is donation, and what is worth something is what stretches a one-day job into three, and it is the part that is hardest to price.

Turning down a job you cannot staff costs you the relationship

When a repeat customer calls with a full estate and you have no capacity for the sorting side, saying no is expensive twice — the job, and the next call that never comes.

Before you refer anyone

How the money works

This is the one referring category where an ordinary commercial arrangement is lawful, so it is the one page on this site that discusses it. Nothing is agreed by reading a page: you apply, a person reviews it, and terms are put in writing before a single customer is sent.

Apply to the partner program

Applications are reviewed by a person. Terms are agreed in writing before any customer is sent, and your code tracks the leads either way.

What the family pays is a flat project fee, quoted in writing after the walkthrough and before any work begins. Where we resell an item on their behalf, VaultXL keeps 15% of that item’s sale price and the client keeps 85%, itemised line by line.

What we do, and what we don't

You are putting your own name behind the introduction. This is the boundary in writing, so you can refer without wondering what happens next.

We do

  • Screen the contents for resale value before anything is hauled or loaded
  • List and sell what is worth selling, and report back what each item made
  • Leave the move, the labour, and the haul-away revenue entirely with you
  • Agree written terms before the first customer is sent, so nobody is guessing
  • Take one house or a standing arrangement — no minimum volume either way

We don't

  • Bid against you on the removal, the packing, or the move itself
  • Contact your customer after the job without you copied in
  • Take a job where the contents do not justify our involvement — we will say so and hand it straight back
  • Ask for exclusivity, a territory, or a contract term
  • Charge you anything to be part of the program

Questions we get asked

You apply, we agree written terms before any customer is sent, and your code tracks every lead that comes from you. Nothing is accrued against a code until an application has been approved and the terms are signed — the tracking code alone does not create an arrangement.

Not on your work. We run our own transitions in Charlotte, so if a customer asks us for a straight haul-away in a market where you operate, that is your job and we say so. The reason this arrangement exists at all is that the sorting-and-selling piece and the moving-and-hauling piece are different businesses.

You do, in full. We are not in that line of work and have no interest in it. Our side is the resale: identifying, pricing, listing, and settling the items worth selling, which is revenue that did not exist on the job before.

Then we tell you and your customer that on day one and step back, rather than running a process to justify being there. A crew that sends us three houses and hears an honest no on one of them sends us the fourth.
