Maker and material decide the ceiling. Brown Jordan, Woodard, Homecrest, Tropitone, Winston and Salterini metal furniture, and teak from makers such as Kingsley-Bate, Gloster and Barlow Tyrie, hold their value well. Restoration Hardware and Frontgate pieces sell on the brand name. Vintage 1950s metal gliders, shell chairs and wrought-iron sets in patterns such as Woodard's Chantilly Rose have collectors of their own. Big-box resin and generic wicker sell for much less.
Sets sell better than pieces. A table with its matching chairs is worth more together, and buyers search for complete sets. A round metal mesh patio table with four spring chairs that we listed sold in two days. Complete sets are what buyers search for.
Timing matters more here than anywhere. In Charlotte, outdoor furniture sells best from early spring into early summer, when people are setting up decks and patios, and slows sharply in late autumn and winter. If you have the choice, we will tell you whether to list now or wait for spring.
Condition is described honestly. Rust, peeling paint or powder coat, worn slings and straps, cracked glass tops, weathered teak and faded or mildewed cushions all go in the listing. Cushions usually add little to the price, and we sell a set with or without them, whichever is cleaner.
Outdoor furniture does not ship. It is sold to local buyers on Facebook Marketplace and through our own shop for pickup, and we schedule and attend every pickup so you are never alone with a stranger.
Before you sell patio furniture.
Hose off pollen and dirt, and bring cushions indoors so they don't mildew further, but do not repaint or refinish anything before talking to us. A fresh coat of spray paint can lower the value of vintage wrought iron or a maker-marked piece, and teak's grey weathering is often what buyers expect. Look for maker's labels or stamps under seats and tables, and keep any spare parts, covers and receipts.

Why VaultXL.
Sold where it sits
Nothing is moved or stored. Buyers collect from your patio at a time we schedule and attend.
Timed for the season
We will tell you honestly whether a set will bring more if it waits for spring.
Sets kept together
Tables and chairs sell as the set buyers are searching for, unless a single piece is worth more alone.
No quick paint jobs
We never repaint vintage metal or oil weathered teak to dress it up. The right buyer pays for original.

Frequently asked.
Early spring into early summer, when people are setting up their outdoor spaces. It slows sharply in late autumn and winter. If you can wait, we will tell you whether it is worth it.
Often, yes. Woodard, Salterini, Brown Jordan and similar maker pieces, and 1950s gliders and shell chairs, have collectors. Look for a label or stamp under the seat or table.
No. It is heavy and bulky, so it sells to local buyers who collect it. We schedule and attend every pickup.
Usually with the set if they are clean, but they add little to the price. Faded or mildewed cushions are often better left out, and the listing says so.
Every project is quoted in writing after a free walkthrough: a non-refundable setup fee set in your quote, and 15% of what sells after marketplace fees. You keep 85%.
